Water from young green coconuts contains auxins (root growth stimulants). Studies show that leaving cuttings in a coconut water solution after the initial cut provides significantly better outcomes – the shoots and roots are proven to grow more vigorously and in less time.
The coconut is a seed – one of the biggest in the world. It’s packed with all the nutrients, enzymes and hormones that a huge coconut palm requires to abundantly thrive. coconut water proves to have excellent results in propagation for shoot growth, leaf density and root expansion.
HOW TO PROPOGATE
STEP ONE
To propagate new plants from most multi-stemmed plants, try rooting tip cuttings. First, cut 4 to 6 inches from the tip of the main stem or side branch. Cut just below a node (where the leaf attatches to the stem).
STEP TWO
Remove the lower leaves and any flowers. Dip the cutting into the GROCONUT solution and leave in the solution for 30-60 minutes. Remove from the solution and plant in your choice of medium.
STEP THREE
Provide indirect light and bottom heat. For cuttings in soil: When cuttings planted in soil resist tugs, they are taking root – usually about 2-4 weeks. Dig up gently, check root growth, and pot up a size. For cuttings in water: Move cutting to another rooting medium (a seedling mix works well) as soon as roots are 2-3cms long.
